So its been a good while since I was last on..with 2 games a week it seems like its school lax and sleep and all over again. The CAC tournament starts tomorrow and the season has seemed to fly by. We have had several close games this year, many more as opposed to years past, but i think it has helped us and we have prepared more than in last years. I feel like our team is finally clicking and I defeinitly think it is the right time to start doing so. I feel as if a lot of people are hating on us sometimes cause we don't blow every team out, but I think this is just an atest to the narrowing gap in parity through all divisions. Every team has a chance to win on any day and I feel it is a test to our ability that we have weathered the storm throughout. I think a lot of people have forgotten that even though we have had close games this year, we still are unbeaten. I am proud of my team cause of the way they come to play everyday and can't wait for the playoffs to start so we can show off how good we are gelling. Go Gulls Baby!
and GO RANGERS!!
I will check back in sometime soon ..and good luck to everyone in the playoffs.
We just got back from Spring break and it was an awesome trip! We left right after our game on sunday and for those of us that weren't flying we drove down 16 hours to florida on the bus... as bad as it sounds ..the bus may have been the funnest part of the trip! I was on edge for eight hours of it though being as our 70 year old bus driver self proclaimed "road runner" was at the wheel and was pushing the needle past the brink and swwerving over every rumble strip in site.
Once we got down we had a day to relax in the sand and the weather was awesome 75 and sunny..can't complain..as always there were a select few teammates who thought they were above the sun and well they were proved wrong the next day as they got fried.
I didn't practice tuesday because my knee was inflamed from the game and i couldn't really move so it wouldn't have done much good to play. Tuesday was an overcast day which was ok... even overcast there was bettter than the weather in salisbury. Wednesday we had pre-game which was cool cause some highschool teams stayed to watch us.. layed low the rest of the day (coach ruled out that everyone must be off of the beach by 1:30) That night we went on the coolest scene of the trip which was this bamboo forest nature walk next to the hotel. It was insane at night and was very creepy but it was definitly fun and every guy that went on it enjoyed it.
Thursday was our game and SLU came to play. We were up most of the game. ( The game story was a bit flawed, we're in florida, not all the stats were getting down correctly). In the end we pulled it out and I give props to a very good SLU team that always plays us tough. After the game we had a nice tailgate then hoped back on the bus and headed back to Salisbury.
The ride back was again fun. We watched 16 hours of Lost all the way home which was awesome. Then when we got back, me kus hickman and fiorentino went directly to the DVR to catch the new lost episode we had missed thursday night while on the bus. After that i slept for a solid 8 hours and then had a good time frisbee golfing over the weekend and spending some time back at the house. Mom cooked up a nice easter dinner and i caught some good flicks on dad's new 56 in HD ..thats the next step.. as he always says .. and it needs to be mine (I will be accepting donations of any form ..cash, money order etc..
We had practice last night 8-10 and pregame today then york comes to town tuesday night for our first night game which should be pretty cool.
School is a little rough right now and I am definitly going to have to pick up to study time if I want to pull out some decent grades, but no worries everything works out in the end.
Good to be back though and happy easter to all!
The week just started and after our bruiser yesterday with OWU, my body is acheing a bit. We won 14-10, the game was somewhat close but was very hard to get in to. There were a combined 28 penalaties. Half of the game was a man up or man down situation! The refs needless to say thought that we weren't gonna hit or anthing because this is college lacrosse and there were some very intrigueing(sp) calls to say the least. Looking ahead we have marymount, who just upset Hampden Sydney and then a though Denison next sunday. I know we play on sundays because of travel time, but I am definitly more of a saturday game fan...then you get a whole day to relax...Sunday games your right back to work the next day.
Lax.com had a great article on the game and I really think they are stepping up their coverage as far as getting to more games. Not to mention the first regular season game on tv this weekend was pretty cool also. That is about all to report right now ..take it easy
